Welcome to Holy Trinity Church, Aberystwyth

Holy Trinity provides a biblical ministry centred on the worship of God, preaching and the sacraments, teaching, and fellowship. Through Sunday and midweek services, a weekly Bible study, and a range of group activities, we aim to present the challenge and good news of Jesus Christ, help people to apply the teachings of the Bible to their lives, and provide practical support to one another.

We offer a more traditional form of Anglican worship
based on the services of the Church in Wales, which express the shared truth of the Christian faith and also encourage active participation as we say or speak the Psalms and prayers together. We aim to provide an accessible and inclusive form of worship that honours God, the scriptures, and tradition while remaining relevant for today.

You are most welcome to join us at Holy Trinity Church, whether you are a believer, would like to find out more about the Christian faith, or are thinking of returning to church after an absence.

What we believe

At Holy Trinity we follow the Bible, the word of God, as our authority in our faith and our Christian lives. We believe that the Scriptures contain all that is necessary for salvation. The important points of basic Christian doctrine are set out in the Nicene Creed and in the Apostles’ Creed, which form part of most of our services. These are statements of faith about the Trinity (God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), the person and work of Jesus Christ (God the Son), the nature of the church, and the Christian’s hope.

The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of his Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father,
by whom all things were made:
who for us men, and for our salvation
came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man,
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried,
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
And he shall come again with glory to judge both the
quick and the dead:
whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the Giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified,
who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins.
And I look for the Resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.  Amen.
